The meeting was called to order by President Cheryl Edman at 9:30 a.m. at Fidalgo Bay Resort in Anacortes, Washington.
President: Cheryl used a public address system she donated to the Chapter.
Agenda: Cheryl added the topic of New Member Packets under New Business. The agenda was approved as amended.
Minutes: The minutes of the Fall General Meeting and the January 13th Board meeting were posted on the Web site and mailed to those without e-mail. The minutes were approved as written.
Correspondence: Cheryl reported that annually each Chapter must submit to National an Activity Summary Report, a Leadership Roster, an Annual Financial Report, and Bylaws. Cascadia was one of two chapters who completed and submitted their reports on time.
Cheryl introduced Dee Johnson, editor of the RVing Women magazine and noted that our chapter has several contributors to the magazine.
Treasurer's Report: Lynda Byrd reported that there are 90 paid members for 2007. There is a balance of $1,564.75 in the general fund as of February 28, 2007.
Registrar's Report: Linda Clark reported that there are 29 RVs and 52 people attending this weekend's events at Fidalgo. Of the five visitors attending, two have joined our Chapter.
Linda went over the rules for paying for events: 1) Contact Linda to register for each event 2) Tell Linda your date of arrival and when you are leaving and if you are bringing a guest 3) Contact Linda if your plans change
Event Coordinator's Report: Linda James reported that there will be 4-6 Divas for each event and 2 "Hi There" girls. The Event Captains will be in charge of the weekend activities. Barbara and Mary Hatred volunteered to be Event Captains at Leavenworth in September. No one has volunteered for Cashmere in April. The Event Captains are as follows: April (Cashmere) - not yet determined May (Mossyrock) - Sue Ellen & Norma, Linda & Mary June (Pt. Townsend) -Jan & Gayle, Gery & Lynne, Kay July (Ft. Langley) - Bonnie Blossom, Coordinating Team Development August (Tokeland) - Elaine & Marne, Diane & Nancy, Pat & Jill September (Leavenworth) - Barbara and Mary Hatred October (Fidalgo) - Linda & Mary, Lynda & Linda
OLD BUSINESS:
Dues: Dues for 2007 will remain at $5.00 per member.
NEW BUSINESS:
New Member Packets: Sue Ellen assembled new member packets that include the following information: Who we are Membership - Where dues money goes Officers' names and e-mail addresses Event Schedule Vitae Sheet All members were given a vitae sheet to fill out. Jill will collect and sort them.
Member Survey/Future Planning: Jennifer Schoen facilitated a brainstorming session on members' interests for future activities. After the lists were compiled, each person put dots next to their 10 favorite choices. Jo volunteered to type up the lists for discussion at our next event.
2007 Budget Proposal: The membership reviewed the proposed operating budget for 2007. Projected income is $1,639.97 which includes $954.97 carry over from 2006. Fixed expenses total $900, excluding expenses for National Convention, event activities, memorials, etc. The extent of event activities will be budget-driven. The budget was accepted as written.
Good of the Order: Kit Adams, Web Master, indicated she needs an assistant with database skills who knows Access or Sequel.
Cheryl reminded members that Daylight Savings Time begins tonight.
Look at Dana Lyons web site to find words to a song that Cascadia could sing at the National Convention in Lodi, California - October 10-14.
