October 28, 2006
Meeting was called to order by President Sue Ellen Johnson at 9:15am.
Old minutes from spring general meeting were read and approved.

$1292.44 chapter balance
Old Business:
Jo Schilling is the new Sunshine Committee representative. Members should contact Jo with any illness, bereavement, or other member concerns.
Karlene Fields reported on the recent 2006 Kansas National RVW Convention. 132 rigs with 218 women attended the rally. Karlene says a fun time was had by all.
Next years National Convention will be October 10-14, 2007 in Lodi, California at the Great Festival Fairgrounds. There are limited sites with hookups so get there early!
Marne Parry will place an order in 2 weeks for name badges. She will also send another order in the spring. Any members wanting an engraved name badge should contact Marne. The order form is also on the website.
Dianne Pond has volunteered to be the point person for S&P Designs, our Cascadia logo clothing vendor. We need a minimum of 12 items before we can place an order. Any member wanting logo clothing or goods should contact Dianne.
Thanks to Diane Milnor and Kit Adams for their hard work on the website. It is awesome! Diane reports she will add an "unofficial event" area in the
members only section of the website to alert members of unofficial gatherings of
small groups during the off season and between our regular events. Diane is also working on ways for us to utilize the National RVW site more. She also encourages members to use the classified ad section of our website to advertise RV related goods.
The slate of 2007 officer candidates was read:
President elect: Dorene Thomas
Secretary: Jan Kegal and Judy Polenske
Treasurer: Gail Alexander and Lynda Byrd
Registrar: Linda Clark
Activities: Linda James (with Mary Nebel)
New Business:
The Bylaws committee was recognized and thanked for their diligent work.
Bonnie Blossom outlined the bylaws process. Marne Parry moved to rescind the old bylaws and adopt the new bylaws as proposed by the committee with a second by Jan Curry. There was no discussion and the motion to adopt the new bylaws passed unanimously.
Sue Ellen Johnson opened the floor to nominations for 2007 Cascadia Officers. Hearing no nominations from the floor, ballots were distributed and elections proceeded for President Elect, Secretary, Treasurer, Event Coordinator, and Registrar. When all ballots were collected, Bonnie Blossom, Norma Dalla Santa, and Cathy Atkins retired from the meeting to tally the results.
A motion was brought to the floor by Fran Patrick to raise the Cascadia annual dues from $5 to $10 year. After some discussion and a report on our fiscal needs from Treasurer Lynda Byrd, the motion was amended by Fran Patrick and seconded by Marne Parry to raise dues to $15 per year. The motion passed by a majority vote with 7 members opposed.
The election results were announced by the ballot counting committee as follows:
President elect: Dorene Thomas
Secretary: Judy Polenske
Treasurer: Lynda Byrd
Registrar: Linda Clark
Activities: Linda James (with Mary Nebel)
Next years events calendar was distributed by incoming President Cheryl Edman. The October 2007 event will be moved to a different location to be announced later due to our displeasure with Beachwood double booking the clubhouse for this event.
Good of the Order:
Christening of rigs will be tomorrow at 9:15 followed by the Pet Parade at 1015.
Linda James and Mary Nebel would like each of next year’s events to be organized and run by member "teams." Linda and Mary are recruiting members to "chair" each event. Get together and offer your creative ideas and energy. Linda and Mary have worked hard to organize all the events this year and want to spread the fun around next year. They will offer coordination expertise to each team. Contact Linda and Mary to let them know which event you’d like to organize!
A thank you note was read from Virginia Greenlee regarding the memorial gift Cascadia sent in memory of Irene Hallett. Virginia emphasized the importance of the friendships Irene had with many Cascadia members.
President Sue Ellen Johnson and first lady Norma Dalla Santa were given gifts and thanked for their years of dedicated, heartfelt service to Cascadia.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:20 am.
Respectfully submitted November 9, 2006 by Sec/Treasurer Lynda Byrd
