Cascadia RVW General Meeting

October 18, 2008

 

Board Members Present:  Dorene Thomas, Alice Burk, Marne Parry, Cheryl Edman, Pat Lebbert, Judy Polenske, and Kay Piehl

 

The meeting was called to order by President Dorene Thomas at 9:00 a.m. at the Whatcom County Fairgrounds (People’s Building) in Lynden, WA.

 

Minutes:  The minutes from the previous meeting were accepted as written and posted to the web site.

 

Treasurer’s Report:  There is a bank balance of $4,574.92 as of September 30, 2008.  The Treasurer’s Report will be filed for audit.

 

President’s Report:  Dorene Thomas reported that the September event at Hoodsport RV Park, Hoodsport,WA, was a “howling” success. There were 33 rigs and 68 people present.  Five emergency vehicles were seen over the weekend -- two on Thursday evening and three on Saturday afternoon.

Cascadia’s Bylaws have received a “final” approval from the RVW Board of Directors after

many compliance changes had been made.

The National Convention in Charleston, SC, October 24-28, 2008, had 12 Cascadia members in attendance.  Anne Mathisen proudly carried the Canadian flag when the colors were presented. The 2009 convention will be held in San Antonio, Texas, October 14-18.

 

Event Coordinator’s Report:  Alice Burk will be thanking the Event Captains, “Hi There Girls” and Bandana Divas at the volunteer dinner tonight.

 

Unfinished Business:  Acknowledge “special volunteers” other than “Hi There Girls”, Divas and Event Captains”.  Final introduction of 2007-2008 Board Members.

 

New Business:  Election of Officers for 2008-2009.  The slate as presented by Barbara Nelson, nominating committee chair, was voted on by acclamation. The slate was approved and is as follows:

Events:                       Barbara Werner and Diane Davis

WELCOME NEW BOARD MEMBERS

 

Cheryl Edman informed the group that because of updated standards, the Defibrillator needs to be re-calibrated.  She will find out where to take it.
