Event Description

Ready for a roaring campfire on the beach?  This is place to do it.  The Bayshore is located right on Willapa Bay, and has a large group campfire circle that looks right out on the bay. Grab some fresh crab at Nelson Crab Co. down the street, and get ready for some beachside fun.

General Schedule

 

Friday

• 5 p.m. Happy hour and 5:30 potluck hors d'ouvres supper

• Unstructured evening to enjoy yourself in any manner you please

 

Saturday Morning

• 9 a.m. Bike clinic put on by Elaine and Marne.   Learn basic set-up and maintenance such as proper seat adjustment, lubing your chain and changing a tire.

• 10:30 a.m. Organized bike ride

 

Saturday Afternoon

• 2 - 4 p.m. Bird houses and feeders.  Come build a simple birdhouse or feeder from kits provided by Nancy and Diane, then decorate them with artistic guidance available from our very own resident artist Pat Lebbert. This activity will be limited to 12 participants, based on advance signup with Diane. Decorating materials such as driftwood, shells, twigs, mosses, stones, etc. will be provided, or bring your own. Cost: $10 per person for materials.

• Confirmed for birdhouses: Ursula Brogan, Kit Adams, Sandy Cyr, Judy Turner, Marne/Elaine, Cheryl Edman, Sue/Norma, Lori Youngs, Jan Olivier, Char Napiontek. Space still available!

 

 

There will be several styles of birdhouse kits to choose from for the Saturday afternoon activity.

Elaine (left) and Marne will be putting on the bike clinic Saturday morning. Elaine has logged thousands of miles commuting to work every day by bicycle. Above they are shown on one of their multiple trips biking through Holland.

 

 

Saturday Evening

• 5:30 Happy hour.

• 6:00 Potluck supper with a seafood theme. If you don't like seafood, bring salad, side dish or dessert.

• 7:30 After dinner, self-organized games in the clubhouse, or join in around the big group campfire for music led Candy Wood, accompanied by Char Norby on mandolin, Barb Gilger on ukulele and Sara L.

 

Sunday Morning

• 9 a.m. Coffee in the clubhouse

• 9:30 a.m. Christening new rigs

 

Volunteers Needed

We need 4-6 volunteers at each event to serve as “Bandana Divas” to help with setting up, cleaning up and generally being available to be helpful.  This job will not prevent you from enjoying all the weekend activities.  To sign up to be a Bandana Diva for the Tokeland event, please e-mail  our event planners, Linda James or Mary Nebel. 

 

 

Things to Do Nearby

• Take in a meal at the historic Tokeland Hotel, located right across the street from the Bayshore

• Pick up some fresh crab or other seafood at Nelson Crab Co, located about 1/4 mile from the Bayshore

• Beachcomb or fly a kite

• Walk or bike ride on the quiet street leading from the Bayshore to the Tokeland Marina

• Launch a canoe, kayak or raft

• Gaming at the Shoalwater Bay Casino, located two miles from the Bayshore
